While in high school he played varsity baseball, basketball and football. After high school he sold used cars in McMinnville for a short time then returned to farming. He married Viola Pumala on January 1, 1938 in Amity, Oregon. She preceded him in death in 1984. In 1940 he moved to Spring Valley where he farmed and dairyed with his father, "Bose' Loop. He married Darlene Morningstar on September 9, 1991 in Lake Tahoe. He retired from farming in 1993. He moved to Salem in 2005. He loved coon hunting, fishing, crabbing, rodeo roping, wild cow milking and baseball. He was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church since 1920; a past member of the Independence Elks and past member of Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of hte River City Sams Club in Salem, Oregon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frosty Loop and a sister, Beulah Krieger. Carl is survived by his wife, Darlene Loop; son, Roger Loop of Salem; daughter, Jody Spiesschaert of Wickenburg, Ariz; step-daughters, Denise Greenwade of Salem, Christine Kirsch of Eugene, and Teresa Morningstar of Sherwood; sister, Lorene Duchien of Molalla; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Cryptside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11 at Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum, McMinnville. Contributions may be made to Mid-Valley Workshop or Amity United Methodist Church c/o Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. after 5 March 2006.

    The youngest of 10 children of William Henry and Ada Boyd,she was born at the family home in Wallowa in Lower Valley.She spent all of her life in Wallowa County,except for 10 years that she lived in Colorado.
    On April 2,1935 she married Wayne R.Weaver in Enterprise. He preceded her in death on Nov. 25,1985.
    Mrs. Weaver was a devout Christian,putting God and her church first in her life and next was her devotian to her family.She cared for her husband in his final years before he becoming ill herself in 1986.
    Survivors include two daughters, Janice Mclaughlin, Imbler and Connie Kelly, Coeur d' Alen,Idaho; two sisters, Lida Hulse,Wallowa and Alpha Wisiak of Iowa; six grandchildren,Ed Mclaughlin, Albany, Rod Mclaughlin, Hermiston, Allen Kelly, Amy Robinson and Kristi Mclaughlin of Bakersfield, Calif., and Tom Kelly, Coeur d'Lene;and four great-grandsons.
    Funeral services were held March 14, at the Wallowa Church of Christ. Interment followed at the Bramlet Cemetery. Her grandchildren were pall bearers.Bollman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
