Deborah Ann Jacoway was born December, 29, 1958 to Robert and Charlotte (Hansen) Jacoway in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up in Rush City where she attended Jacobson Elementary School and Rush City High School. She was active in the Majorettes, Cheerleading, Junior League Bowling, Choir, Office Assistant, Class Officer, Declam, Class Play, Pep Club and FHA. Debbie was introduced to Royal Carlson in 1974. She graduated from Rush City High School in 1977. Debbie and Royal were married on September 17, 1977. Shortly after their marriage moving into the Carlson family homestead and began farming, Debbie was a good partner, pitching in with the farm work. She gave birth to their first son, Michael Robert on December 1, 1978. Their second son, Jared Loren, was born on December 15, 1980. In 1983, they all moved to Rush City where Deb dedicated her time to raising their two boys while Royal drove truck over the road. In 1986, she started working at the Sterling Brother’s drug store in Rush City where she remained until 1991. After that, she began working as a florist at Floral Affairs in Rush City and continued as a florist when the shop moved across town. Debbie then left the flower shop to pursue a career as a paraprofessional at Jacobson Elementary School in 1996. To fill her time during the summer months, she got a job as an usher for the Minnesota Twins. In 2004, Debbie and Royal moved to Braham. She valued her time at the school and with the Twins organization where she continued to be employed until she was no longer able to work. During her spare time Debbie enjoyed socializing with her many friends and her family, gardening, doing wedding flowers, yard work and making her home a home with her loving husband Royal. She loved social networking, camping, fishing, road trips with Royal and meals out. She was a die-hard fan of the Twins or… was it Snoopy?! She especially loved being a grandma. Debbie is survived by her husband Royal Carlson of Braham; son Jared (Amanda) Carlson of Fort Lee, Virginia; grandchildren Brooklyn Carlson and Marcus Carlson both of Fort Lee, Virginia; brother Larry Jacoway of St. Paul; uncles Jim Hansen and Chuck Hansen both of St. Paul. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Charlotte Jacoway and her son Michael Carlson. Pastor Steve Weihsmann and Pastor Steve Jennisch will officiate funeral services for Debbie at 11 a.m. on Thursday January 19, 2017 at the Harris Covenant Church in Harris with music provided by Sonda Jacobson, Sylvia Wien, Sharon Konstantinides, Jill Deming and Steve Berggren. A time of visitation and reviewal from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City and one hour prior to the service at the church. Casket bearers include Eleni Konstantinides, Andrea Carlson, Katie Heinz, Heidi Wien, Jeremiah Carlson, Jeremy Wien, Riley Jacobson, Tennie Jacobson. Interment in the Harris Covenant Cemetery of Harris. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service of Rush City ~ Olson Chapel after 10 January 2017.

  • Obituary*: An obituary appeared in the Michael Carlson of Braham passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the age of 37. Michael Robert Carlson was born December 1st 1978 in Cambridge, MN. He participated in 4-H, Harris Covenant Church Youth Group, Cub/Boy Scouts, Rush City High School Band (drums), Harris Covenant Church Softball League, and Harris Covenant Church King's Kids youth program (Teacher). He Graduated from Rush City High School in 1997. Mike attended college at Vermillion Community College in Ely, MN for 2 years in the aviation program. Upon his return he gained experiences at a variety of jobs including maintenance, pool installation, machine shops and metal fabrication. He was planning to propose to his girlfriend of 4 years, Amanda McNeal. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His other hobbies included constructing with legos, playing in a pool league, building and driving demolition derby cars, fly tying, hunting and his true love: fishing. He is and will continue to be sorely missed by all whose lives were touch by him. Mike is survived by his parents Royal and Debbie Carlson of Braham, fiancée Amanda McNeal of Kost, brother Jared (Amanda) Carlson, niece Brooklyn Carlson, nephew Marcus Carlson all of Fort Lee, Virginia, honorary brothers Chris Dudrey of North Branch, Kaine Trondson of Braham, grandparents Curtis and Elaine Carlson of Harris, uncles Larry Jacoway of St. Paul, Roger (Marsha) Carlson of Kearney, Nebraska, Randy (Karen) Carlson of Harris, aunts Sylvia Wien of Amery, Wisconsin, Sharon Konstantinides of Harris, Sonda (Brad) Jacobson of Harris.

    He is preceded in death by his grandmother Charlotte Jacoway and uncle Mark Wien.

    Pastor Steve Weihsmann and Pastor Steve Jennisch will officiate at funeral services for Mike: 11 AM Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Harris Covenant Church. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned for 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City and one hour prior to the service at the church. Casket bearers will include Chris Dudrey, Kaine Trondson, Jared Carlson, Matt Milliman, Scott Milliman and Chad Schweigert. Music will be provided by Sonda Jacobson and Matt Duong. The interment will take place at the Harris Covenant Cemetery.

  • Note*: She MISSION, Ore. – Umatilla Tribal Police responded to an anonymous report of a single-car accident off Mission Road Saturday at 8:45 p.m. They found the crash just short of Milepost 5 near the Cayuse Road turn.
    Officers found an overturned 2009 Mazda in the ditch, and called Umatilla Tribal Fire Department medics to the scene. Victoria Sproed, a Umatilla tribal member, was found deceased inside the vehicle.
    Umatilla Tribal Police and Oregon State Police are working on the crash reconstruction investigation to determine what caused the crash. Anyone with any information is asked to call authorities. on 26 September 2016.
