    Graveside service for Marie VanDyke, 94, will be 10 a.m. today at the Pine City (Wash.) Cemetery. Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Malden Community Church. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Rosalia, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. VanDyke, who was born in Rosalia, died Saturday.
    She was a homemaker.
    Mrs. VanDyke was a 50-year member of the Kenova Grange and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star's Malden Chapter, Alpha Club, Malden Community Church, L.W.B., Excella Club and the Duplicate Bridge Club.
    Her husband, Paul, died in 1993.
    Survivors include three sons, Gene and Gary VanDyke, both of Malden, and Don VanDyke of Rosalia; a brother, George Coker; a half-sister, Velma McKinney; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Whitman County Hospice, Rosalia Fire Department, Malden Community Church or the Pine City Historical Society.

    Visitation for Leland R. Lawson, 74, will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bowdish Chapel. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery. Mr. Lawson, who was born in Colville, Wash., died Saturday. He served with the Army in Europe and Africa during World War II. Mr. Lawson was the recipient of two Purple Hearts and the Silver Star. He was the 12th most decorated soldier in World War II. He worked for Kaiser AluminumTrentwood Credit Union, which is now Horizon Credit Union, for seven years as a manager. He later worked for Spokane Federal Credit Union for 12 years also as a manager. Mr. Lawson helped established several other credit unions in the Spokane area. He retired in 1985. In 1976 he married Lois Giasson in Spokane. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Fourth Ward, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Shriners and the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Richard and Ronald Lawson, both of Marysville, Calif., and Roger Lawson of Richland; a daughter, Heather Colon of Sacramento, Calif; three stepdaughters, Vickie Giasson of Spokane, Sharon McMillan of Kamloops, British Columbia, and Linda Ricks of Benson, Utah; a sister, Loretta Jones of Tacoma; and 18 grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
