    William Lake

    Seattle-Former Walla Wailan Willan William Teague Lake, 52, died at his
    mone from complications of AIDS April 12, 2003. A memorial service
    will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at a later date. His parents
    are William H. and Susan T. Lake of Walla Walla.

    Bill Lake
    SEATTLE -- William Teague "Bill" Lake, 52 died at his home April 12, 2003, from complications of AIDS. A jazz celebration of his life will be 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jade Pagoda, Seattle. A service will be 10 a. m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Seattle. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.n. May 6 at ST Paul's
    Episcopal Church, Walla Walla. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Ministries, Heart to Heart or St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Mr. Lake was born Sept. 23. 1950, in Walla Walla to William H. and Susan Teague Lake. He graduated in 1868 from Walla Walla High School and attended Central Washington State College and Walla Walla Community College. He served in the U. S. Navy aboard USS Midway during the Vietnam War. Living in Los Angeles, he graduated from Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. He played a doctor briefly on "General Hospital," worked in commercials and was a singing nun in 1980's "The Gong Show Movie." Moving to Seattle in 1996, new drugs improved his health and he served three years on the Seattle-King County HIV-AIDS Planning Council. He was involved in many activist events, including found Lesbian and Gay Veterans of America. In 2002 he received a Eagle Award for work with gay
    veterans. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 1981 and was supported by the fund during his last years. In Seattle he joined St. Mark's Cathedral and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, serving as a lector. He was a member of American Legion Alexander Hamilton Post 448. He attended the opening ceremonies for the Gay Games in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Survivors include his parents of Walla Walla; sister Sheila Hair of Walla Walla; brother Charles "Chip" Lake of Everett; aunt and two uncles, Richard Lake of Redmond, Wash., and Elaine and John Brownell of Walla Walla; companion and caregiver Jerry Olson, at home; three nephews and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by partner Ted O'Neil. after 12 April 2003 Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington.
