    Funeral services for Frank Schminkey, 76, who died at his home at Gandy on Tuesday, July 15, after an extended illness, were held from the Gandy Methodist church on Friday, July 18, at 2 o'clock, with Rev. E.N. Littrell of the Arnold Methodist church in charge. Wm. Rosentrater, Mynor Smith, Don Smith and Russell Morton accompanied by Mrs. Mynor Smith, sang during the services. Pall bearers were Harry Snow, Roy Moore, George Rockwell, Floyd Fowler, Clarence Philpot and Bert Dawson. Interment was in the McCain cemetery. Frank Schminkey, son of Aaron and Frances Schminkey, was born February 5, 1871 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa and died at his home at Gandy, Nebraska, after an extended illness on July 15, 1947 at the age of 76 years, six months and 10 days. He came to Nebraska with his parents when he was a small boy and lived on a homestead west of Arnold. He later returned to Des Moines, Iowa where he married Julia Clark. Four children, two of whom died in infancy, were born to this marriage. In August, 1907, he married Emma Cram, of Des Moines. The family returned to Nebraska in 1916, where Mr. Schminkey farmed on Garfield table for a number of years. For the past several years he has made his home at Gandy. He is survived by his widow; one son, LeRoy Schminkey of Enid, Oklahoma; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Riley of Colfax, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Ashley of Albia, Iowa; and two brothers, L.W., of Tacoma, Washington and Earl of Des Moineds. He is also survived by 13 grand-children, seven great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
