  MANITO -- William R. Rochester, 93, of 604 S. Park Ave. died at 9:25 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at his residence.
  Born July 5, 1906, in Forest City to Earl H. and Daisy Barnes Rochester, he married Nelda M. Bartels on June 21, 1926, in Havana. She died Oct. 17, 1997. Two sisters also preceded him in death.
  Surviving are four sons, Dale (Bonnie) of Pekin, Ray (Joyce) of Auburn, Ind., Larry (Cheryl) of Lawndale, Calif., and Ron (Sharon) of Peoria; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Kathy) Embree of Manito and Mrs. Paul (Eleanor) Gosnell of Tavares, Fla; one brother, Paul of California; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
  He was a machinist at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for more than 28 years, retiring in 1970. He was a former member of Manito-Forest City Optimist Club.
  He was one of the original Forman Ambulance volunteers.
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Maas Funeral Home, where visitation will be two hours before services. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery.
