He was probably best known as ‘Nellie’ at Del’s Building Supply where he was employed for many years. Nelson is survived by his children, Debbie and her husband, Chris O’Rourke of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Scott Rust of Myrtle Creek; Tim and his wife, Shannon Rust of Echo, Oregon; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Christa and Rick Schwan of Myrtle Creek; Angelique and Arthur King; Nathan Rust and Miranda Rust, all of Portland, Oregon; Kalaya and Josh Schenewerk of Las Vegas, Nevada; Brian Rust and Brooke Rust of Moscow, Idaho; Brynna Rust of Echo, Oregon; Michael and Patti O’Rourke of Mandeville, Louisiana; Chris O’Rourke III of Poway, California; two great-grandchildren, Schyler Mary Frances Schwan of Myrtle Creek; Michael O’Rourke Jr. of Mandeville; three sisters, Eunice Laurence of Myrtle Creek; Carlene Foley of Roseburg, Oregon; Carolyn Hoyle and her husband, Leslie of Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
