• Obituary*: An obituary appeared in the Died of a convulsion in a snow bank on way to get the mail. Parents thought
  she had gone to a neighbors and decided to stay all night. She had epileptic seizures--Miss
  Johanna (should be Honnomina) Minske of Iosco died early last Wed. evening, the
  circumstances surrounding her death being particularily sad. She was subject to epelictic fits,
  a malady of which she had suffered for years. Going from her home to the mail box, she
  was seized there with one of the spasms, and fell forward into a huge snow bank. There she
  suffocated and her body remaining in the spot all night, which was a severly cold one,
  became frozen. Her mother and brother, Louie supposed that she had gone to the house of
  her neighbor, Mrs. Herman Seewald and had decided to remain there all night as she had
  frequently done, and hence thought nothing wrong when she did not return to the house. Her
  body, frigid in the snow, was found about 8 o'clock the next morning by John Bathke as he
  was riding by and Coroner Clanchard was summoned from this city. Herman Seewald from
  his farm which adjoins the Minske farm, noticed Miss Minske at the mailbox about five
  o'clock Wednesday afternoon, and he was the last person to have seen her alive. The
  deceased was born in Iosco June 24, 1862, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Minske.
  She spent her entire life on the home farm in Iosco, which is about six miles north of this
  city. She is survived by her mother, who is an invalid, and by two brothers, Louis at home
  and William of Blooming Grove. Her father died several years ago. The funeral was held
  Sunday afternoon from the house at 1:30, Rev. WE Baumgarten pastor of the local German
  Meth. church officiated. Interment was made in the Iosco cemetery. Her tragic death was a
  shock to her friends and sympathy is tendered the bereaved family.--Waseca paper--Dec. 1916 after 27 December 1916.
