  Died at the family residence near Smiley, on Sunday morning at 5 o'clock, Mrs. Elizabeth Robinson, wife of W. T. (Rip) Robinson, one of Gonzales county prominent farmers. Mrs. Robinson was about 53 years of age. She had been in bad health for several years, but was not confined to her bed until the past month or so. In the death of Mrs. Robinson one of the county's noblest Christian woman passed on to her Heavenly reward. Her daily life both in the home and community abundantly reflected her religious profession. She leaves a husband and eleven children to mourn her loss, one child having gone before. Mrs. Sallie Lord of Cheapside, Mrs. Clara Bundick of Smiley, Mrs. Rosa Denman of Houston, and Mrs. Henrietta Pouncey, daughters of the deceased and sons, Messrs. Walter, W. T. Jr., August Nixon, Milton and Robert were all at her bedside, one son, James of Lubbock county, not being able to come on account of serious illness in his family. Mrs. Robinson was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Burnett, who live near Pilgrim, both of whom survive her and were present when her summons came. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon and interment was made in the family burying ground at the Pilgrim cemetery in the presence of many sorrowing friends and relatives gathered to pay their last sad tribute to the dead.   W. T. (RIP) Robinson, aged 71 years, died at his home in Smiley Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock. He was in apparent good health up to a few moments before his death. The decedent was a native of Alabama and had been a resident of Gonzales county for about fifty years. About two years after his arrival here he married Miss Elizabeth, a daughter of the late Dock Burnett, and twelve children were born to them, ten of whom are still living, viz: Walter, William and Nixon, of Smiley, Mrs. W. A. Sanders, Beaumont, Cal., Mrs. H. C. Lord, McCoy, Texas; J. W. W. and Milton Robinson, Lubbock, Texas; Mrs. J. W. Pouncey, Smiley; and Mrs. R. A. Denman, Houston, and Ed Robinson, Gonzales. In addition, two sisters survive him, Mrs. J. M. Rentz of Smiley and Miss Rebecca Robinson, of Alabama. The remains will be buried in Pilgrim cemetery Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Mr. Robinson was one of the best known residents of the county, and was a congenial, whole-souled man, who was very popular with all who knew him. He had been engaged in livestock and farming in Gonzales county and was keenly intrested in hunting in his younger days. For thirty-five years he had been affiliated with Gonzales Lodge, Knights of Pythias, being one of the charter members of the local and a number of years ago was awarded a medal in recognition of his long time connection with the order. Members of the local lodge will conduct the funeral Thursday morning. on Thursday, 3 September 1925.
