    GLADSTONE — Rose Miller, 90, died Saturday.
    She was born in Portland and moved to Gervais where she attended school. She worked for Willamette Cherry Growers for 15 years. She enjoyed international traveling and was active in Catholic Daughters, Sacred Heart Altar Society, Home Extension Service and Brooks Historical Society. She married Andrew in 1933; he died in 1976. She moved to Gladstone 10 months ago.
    Survivors include her daughter, Marianne Sakewitz of Milwaukie; sons, Alan of San Angelo, Texas and Timothy of Brooks; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
    Visiting will be 6 p.m. until the vigil at 7 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gervais where she was a member. Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will follow. Arrangements are by Unger Funeral Chapel in Mount Angel. Contributions: the church school.

    Anne Muth was born Nov. 7, 1907, in Hungary, and immigrated to Portland as a
    child. She was a waitress for Buttermilk Corner, where she worked for 35 years. In 1949, she married Clifford; he died in 1987.

    Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Schaffer; sister, Rose Cooke; four
    grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

    Tom Pfau, a longtime Corvallis elementary schoolteacher, died Sunday in his home of complications from leukemia. He was 44. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, in the Unitarian-Universal Fellowship Church in Corvallis. Born Jan. 8, 1949, in Portland, he was a 1967 graduate of Parkrose High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in music education from Oregon State University in 1971. Mr. Pfau taught music and band classes at Prineville High School for about a year before earning a second bachelor's degree in elementary education from OSU. Mr. Pfau had taught for the Corvallis School District for nearly 20 years. He was on the staffs of Harding, Lincoln and Hoover grade schools and most recently taught fourth-grade at Wilson Grade School. He married Anne Robertson on Aug. 16, 1974, in Portland. Survivors in addition to his wife include his parents, John and Theresa Pfau of Portland. Disposition was by cremation.     A memorial service for Vera Marie Pfau Miller will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Rose City Cemetery Chapel. She died of causes related to her age Wednesday in a Portland care center. She was 83.
    She was born Oct. 15, 1906, in Baker but had lived in Portland since 1917. She graduated from Girls Polytechnic High School. Her maiden name was Emerson.
    Mrs. Miller was a professional seamstress and dressmaker but also had worked as a grocery clerk for the Pennywise Store at Northeast 60th Avenue and Halsey Street for 12 years and as a waitress at the Buttermilk Corner restaurant for 13 years. She also had been an Avon sales representative.
    She was a member of Grocery Clerks Union Local 1092 and First Christian Church. She had been a member of the Portland Junior Symphony.
    In 1928, she married Peter T. Pfau in Goldendale, Wash. After his death in 1960, she married Harry T. Miller in Portland in 1962. He died in 1969.
    Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter, Barbara Getty of Portland; brother, Martin W. Emerson of Tacoma; and one grandson.
    Private inurnment will be in Rose City Cemetery.
    The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to Leukemia Society of America Inc., Oregon chapter; the American Cancer Society; or the American Heart Association.
