  Mrs. Allie Maud Stanfield, beloved wife of James. E. Stanfield, was called by death at her late home in Weston January 23, 1924, at 7:15 o'clock p. m. at the age of 57 years, 4 months and one day. She had been ill two years from cancer, and bore intense suffering with remarkable fortitude.
  Allie Maud Powers was born in Albany, Oregon, September 22, 1866, and came to Weston when only ten years of age. This community had since been her home, and she was highly regarded by a host of friends as a woman of most estimable character.
  She was a daughter of the late Richard M. Powers, a pioneer attorney of Weston. Her marriage to James E. Stanfield was solemnized August 17, 1884. She is survived by her husband and three brothers --- William M. Powers of Weston, Charles Powers of San Francisco, and Richard Powers of Weston.
  Services were conducted at the grave in I. O. O. F. cemetery at 10 o'clock this Friday morning, by Rev. George R. Eads, pastor of the Baptist Church. Members of Hiawatha Rebekah lodge and of Fedora circle, Neighbors of Woodcraft, attended as a guard of honor.
