Eileen Ellen Kanne was born Oct. 11, 1939 in Grant Co, SD to parents, Lawrence and Minnie Mielitz Kanne. She was baptized in the Christian faith at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Big Stone City, SD, and later confirmed in the Methodist church in Ortonville. In 1957, Eileen graduated from Ortonville Public High School. She did farming and gardening near Ortonville and also worked a short time at B&L Industries at Ortonville from Dec. 1995 to Aug. 1996. She enjoyed needlework and ceramics. Eileen passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997 in Fairview University Medical center at Minneapolis reaching the age of 57 years, four months and 15 days. Survivors include her father, Lawrence Kanne of Ortonville; one sister, Caryl (Harold) Foy of Cape Coral, FL; three brothers, Lyle (Rose) and Garnet of Ortonville; and Arlin (Sheila) of Blue Ridge, VA; nieces and cousins. Preceding her in death was her mother, Minnie Kanne. Arrangements were handled by the Larson Funeral Home at Ortonville.
