    Flavia Rae Stepper-Baker of Keizer, formerly of Dallas, died June 23 in Keizer. She was 70.
    She was born to Henry Morrow and Mildred Guthrie Morrow in Dallas. She was the great-great-great-granddaughter of David M. Guthrie, 1847 pioneer who walked from Missouri to where the 1846 wagon-train divided, one going to California the other over the mountain to what was to become Oregon and helped establish the Willamette Valley.
    She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Dallas High School in 1950.
    She married Orval Stepper on Oct. 25, 1952 in Dallas. They later divorced.
    She worked in the Dallas Safeway as a checker for 27 years until her retirement in 1992.
    She later married Lawrence Baker on Feb. 14, 1993 in Reno, Nev. Lawrence preceded her in death in April of 2002.
    She had been a member of the Dallas Evangelical Church since the age of 17. She was a past president of the ladies church group. She was also a member of the Salem Elks.
    She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, canning and watching Trail Blazer games. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Slaughter in 2001 and granddaughter Andrea Stepper in 1976.
    Survivors include her sons, Rick Stepper of Salem and Tim Stepper of Dallas; mother, Mildred Guthrie Boyer of Dallas; brothers, Raymon Cooper of Dallas, Patrick Cooper of Beaver, Larry Morrow of Salem, Billy Morrow of Pendleton and Mike Morrow of Pacific City; sisters, Charlene Cooper of Beaver, Mickie Stephens of Salem, Patty Schroeder of Bozeman Mont., and Dawn White of Pacific City; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
    Services were June 28 at Dallas Evangelical Church and interment was at Dallas Cemetery.
    Contributions may be made to the Church Restoration Fund or Willamette Valley Hospice in care Bollman Funeral Home in Dallas which handled the arrangements

    Pamela Slaughter, 47, of Salem died Sunday of a heart attack.
    She was born in Dallas and graduated from Dallas High School. She lived in Salem from 1973 until moving to Vancouver, Wash., in 1984. She was a contractor in Vancouver for three years. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening and interior decorating.
    Survivors include her husband, John daughter, Katie Slaughter of Vancouver son, Elijah of Fort Wayne, Ind. father, Orval Stepper of Dallas mother, Flavia Baker of Salem brothers, Rick Stepper of Salem and Tim Stepper of Dallas grandparents, Mildred Boyer of Dallas and Bud Boyer of Pacific City and one grandchild.

    Former Clark County resident Pamela Ann Slaughter died in Salem on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, after an extended illness. She was 47.
    She was born Nov. 20, 1953, in Dallas, Ore., and moved to Vancouver in 1984.
    Mrs. Slaughter was a contractor in Vancouver for three years.
    A member of the Evangelical Church of North America, she enjoyed playing the piano, gardening and interior decorating.
    Survivors include her husband, John G., at home; her mother, Flavia Baker of Salem; her father, Orval Stepper of Dallas, Ore; one daughter, Katie M.     Clarence A. "Al" Davis, 91, died Feb. 21, 1994, in the John Knox Village Care Center, Lee's Summit, where he lived.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Mr. Davis was born in San Francisco and lived in Independence most of his life. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years, retiring as a railway mail carrier in 1969. He formerly was a volunteer at the Independence Regional Health Center.
    He was a member of the Stone Church congregation of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include his wife, Harriet E. Davis of the home; a son, Jim Davis, Blue Springs; two daughters, Athene Dale, Eau Claire, Wis., and Fran Zimmerman, Lee's Summit; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
